A young submarine officer Andrei Korsakov loses his name, his fiancée, his freedom and survives by accident because of the treachery of his friends and a corrupt military prosecutor… Many years later he returns to his hometown – the city of his defeats – under a false name. Andrei makes a harsh plan of revenge on everyone responsible for the crash of his life. The former friends have no idea that their happy, carefree lives will come to an end soon, and they will have to pay the bills.

Moscow, year 1982. Scientist Matvey Pyotrovsky creates a time machine and conducts a scientific experiment, which divides the apartment in two parts. Top Russian movie stars play in this drama series about the 1991 civil war threat in Uzbekistan. Musicians from a small military orchestra leave their regimen to play at a local wedding. When they return, they find all their barracks empty. Their regiment has received an urgent redeployment order and left. All of a sudden, a militant group appears from the mountains. They have crossed the border planning to stir a civil war and threatening to kill everyone in their way, even women and children. So, instead of catching up with the regiment, the musicians decide to stay and fight for the innocent civilians.
The story is set at the 1972 Munich Olympics where the U.S. team lost the basketball championship for the first time in 36 years. The final moments of the final game have become one of the most controversial events in Olympic history. With play tied, the score table horn sounded during a second free throw attempt that put the U.S. ahead by one. But the Soviets claimed they had called for a time out before the basket and confusion ensued. The clock was set back by three seconds twice in a row and the Russians finally prevailed at the very last. The U.S. protested, but a jury decided in the USSR’s favor and Team USA voted unanimously to refuse its silver medals. The Soviet players have been treated as heroes at home.
