Charismatic burglar Maksim gets into trouble after owing money to dangerous bandits. During the next robbery, he witnesses a desperate act committed by the apartment owner Eva, who has unexpectedly returned: she tries to burn everything that reminds her of her traitorous boyfriend, and in addition, commit suicide. Nicolae and Elena Ceausescu, Fidel Castro and Che Guevara, Josip Broz Tito and Erich Honecker, and even the African dictator Jean Bedel-Bokassa all make an appearance! When Yasha takes an oath of loyalty to them, this creates trouble for his family.
