It premiered on April 23, 2010 on Starz in the United States. On June 30, 2010, Starz reported that Gravity had been canceled.

Contestants on the show were required to participate in challenges based on plots from the 1960s television show. Both editions of the show were recorded in the Mexican Caribbean on a location South from Cancun. Pop-Punk group Bowling for Soup covered the original Gilligan's Island theme for the show and the show also featured music from the Music Producer and Songwriter Brett Epstein.

Rachel Hunter (born 9 September 1969) is a New Zealand model, actress and reality TV show host who now resides in the USA. She is best known for her appearance in Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issues and her long time marriage to singer Rod Stewart, which ended in 2006. She also appeared in the music video for the Fountains of Wayne song "Stacy's Mom".
