A company of carefree guys, passionate about computer shooting games, infiltrates a private laboratory where a military action simulator is being developed. Entering it, they find themselves in a world where the environment and what is happening are indistinguishable from real life. The guys manage to load into the "closed level" unfinished by the developers, where Belarus of 1942, occupied by the Nazis, is modeled. There, the guys are face to face with a real, not a computer war.
Leningrad, spring 1942. After the first winter of the siege, the conductor of the Grand Symphony Orchestra of the Radio Committee receives an important government task — to perform Shostakovich's Symphony No. 7 in the besieged city. It seems impossible — there are only a few musicians left of the orchestra: someone died of hunger, someone went to the front, and someone went missing. But the concert must take place and thunder all over the world, so that both friends and enemies can hear: "Leningrad is alive!" NKVD officer Anatoly Seregin was seconded to help the orchestra's leader Karl Eliasberg.
The misanthrope Alexander Christoforov, nicknamed "Alec", is a hopeless loser. The actor, who was celebrated in the Soviet era as the hero of "Eugene Onegin", is carving out a depressing existence as a bad paid figure of a ridicule historical show. Despised by his ex-wife, alienated from his son, Alec has totally screwed up his life. But when diagnosed with a mortal illness, he sets off on a ludicrous tour de force at the end of which a piece of eternity surprisingly awaits him - A comedy with a happy end.
When the investigation comes to a dead end, a private detective Leaf (Kirill Pirogov) comes to the rescue. His method is an interrogation disguised as a sincere conversation or a casual conversation between two" accidentally " strangers who happened to be nearby. The leaf does not press. It does not threaten. It is not covered by the law. He prefers a confidential tone, and for meetings he mainly uses the most ordinary spaces: apartments, offices, corridors, car salons; any places where it is more convenient for a person to speak. Leaf is a chameleon who can present himself as anyone: a former TV presenter who has sunk to the bottom, a labor teacher, a clown, a trolleybus driver, a groom from whom the bride ran away...
