Alex is an actor, writer, and filmmaker based in New York City. She’s half Greek, half Romanian, and grew up in Athens, Greece. She studied drama at Vassar College, and her poems have appeared in *82 Review, Cactus Heart Press, Hypertrophic Literary, Fugue, and The Tishman Review. In 2017, Alex was Artist-in-Residence at the Byrdcliffe Arts Colony in Woodstock, NY. She was also named finalist for the Money for Women / Barbara Deming Memorial Fund in Poetry. More recently, Alex was selected as one of 30 poets for the 2019 Visible Poetry Project. In 2018, Alex wrote, produced and performed in Con Spirito, a short film inspired by the college years of poet Elizabeth Bishop. Her directorial debut short film, Grip, is on the festival circuit. She is an ISA Development Slate writer.
